Pingry Hi-Tech Camp Presentations: July 29th

July 29, 2016 @ 3:00 am - 4:30 pm

Think Up

This is a week-long program to expose different elements of developing and crystallizing ideas and entrepreneurial spirit for boys and girls who have completed at least of the Advantage camps. The campers then develop viable solutions and possible business plans, and prepare for their fine-tuned pitches and presentations.

Programming: Java

This course is designed for campers who want to learn the Java programming language. It is recommended that campers have had some prior knowledge of programming concepts; however, it is not mandatory. Campers will learn the object oriented programming concepts by working on mini projects during the first week. They will learn to create their own classes and learn the concepts of inheritance and polymorphism during the second week by working on independent projects.

Programming: Scratch

This course is designed for boys and girls with no programming experience. The camp will use Scratch programming language developed by the MIT Media Lab. This will be the first introduction to object-based programming, with a strong foundation of computer science principles and concepts while creating animations and video games.
